2019 Season - Destination: Deep Space
The Highlanders are proud to introduce our 2019 robot Gravastar. The Highlanders had an amazing season participating in 2 regionals and The Houston World Championship. The Highlanders designed a a robot that could shoot carbo and a hatch mechanism with a level 2 climb (and a level 3 climb added on at Worlds). We were able to automate the driver vision with computer vision!

Robots we join two competing alliances collecting samples on planet Primus. Unpredictable terrain and weather patterns make remote robot operation essential to their mission on the planet. With only 2:30 until liftoff, the alliances must gather as many cargo pods as possible and prepare their spaceships before the next sandstorm arrives. Robots must deliver cargo to the cargo ship and rocketship and place hatch panels on them as well. For the end game, robots must try to reach 1, 2 or 3 level step climb.
Our 2019 season was fantastic. We attended 2 regionals and the World Championship. For this season the team a robot that placed cargo and hatch panels on lower level of the rocketship and cargo ship. Our 2nd level climb was fast and used our strong arm. By champs, we made a level 3 climber! This robot was tough, fast and reliable! What a great season!
